Well, I was going to regale my nonexistent readers with more tales from Snip's housebreaking saga, but my iMac has had a medical emergency, so I am reduced to a public terminal in the library while Griff is in hospital...
This is a blow, both psychological and financial. To get Griff onto a bench at MicroCenter, I had to fork over $75 which I cannot spare (it means no groceries and even later rent to an already irate landlord); fortunately, if his problem is simple, that's pretty much the whole of it, but, well, if it's the tube...
So I must appeal to you, my theoretical readers: if a lot of kind souls out there were to donate small amounts to a PayPal-based fund I've established to defray Griff's medical costs, I might actually be able to cushion the blow this has been to the family finances, and my Mum will stop having hysterics at me.
Any amount would help -- IE if 75 of you donated a dollar, or 150 of you, fifty cents.... you get the idea. I am frantic with worry, because the illness is in Griff's picture-tube; from the symptoms, I suspect it's only a loose wire,but if it's the tube, well, I am up the proverbial creek without an iMac for at least another couple of MONTHS. And I am right on the verge of having a manuscript I can begin sending around; I did NOT need this aggravation!
To sweeten the deal, donors will be remembered in the acknowledgements for this manuscript if it should ever come to publication, or whichever of my next projects may reach that milestone instead...
