Came upon the following campaign-support organization while perusing my friends page:
Punks For Dean
I'm having a hard time sorting out my reaction: beyond the initial burst of hysterical giggling, this is actually amazingly civic-minded from a segment of the population not usually associated with Flag and Country, assuming they're serious which they seem to be, and one is inclined to take this as some measure of exactly how dire the times have gotten if even society's traditional "discards" are getting exercised enough about it to start a get-out-the-vote drive amongst themselves. And one notes, very tellingly, it's not "Punks for Gephardt" or "Punks for Lieberman", and certainly not "Punks for Dubya"; when one sees the grey-haired grannies working at a campaign office side by side with the magenta-Mo'ed leatherkids, well.. now that's democracy.
But I still think it's hilarious. :)
