Agent #3's "thanks but no thanks" just turned up. Grrar. On to the Lightning Round of "a group of Agents any of whom would be equally satisfactory but not legendary enough to give any one more precedence over the other". From here on out it's counting-off-by-threes time, pretty much; the first few got extra time based on one feature or another that puts them into the "give limbs to work with" category, but by the same token those are going to be the ones everyone else is sacrificing limbs to, so it's always a long shot to try for those. Or so one tells oneself because it's too depressing to believe that it's because one can't write a compelling Query Letter to save one's arse.
Probably going to slope off to a party now in the hopes that being around people will curb my urge to write nasty diatribes against corporate control of the publishing industry.
[EDIT, doing the math: Y'know, allowing for the transit time there and back, the Query Letter could hardly have touched down on a desk. Not sure if that means Query 2.0 really sucks rocks or just that the end of July is "clear the decks for vacation" time... {sigh}]
