• New Thing Learned for 25 January: NASCAR racing evolved from the souped-up cars used to evade federal tax agents in the glory days of moonshine running during Prohibition.   • New Thing Learned for 26 January: Although located 50 miles from the coast, Houston is the busiest international seaport in the United States. Spent most of the day avoiding working on knitting newsletter by organizing stash instead, but as I've now run out of yarn to recategorize I suppose I'll have to give in and start on it.
