Question: is an SD slot worth $100, so far as its day-to-day usefulness goes? 'Cos it's looking like the difference between scratching up another $50 or another $150 is more or less my Apples-to-Apples decision to make regarding $NEW_COMPUTER... So, anyone? Anyone? Bueller...?
{EDIT, to clarify: The issue being mostly that this would be the only practical, IE not mostly cosmetic, difference between the two configurations on offer that would have any immediate relevance (since the issue of maximum potential RAM is kind of a nonstarter, by the time I had the $$ to upgrade I'd be looking at a new box anyway). Ironically, my camera's too old for SD anyway...]
