So the TV's been in vertical-hold death-throes for about a week, and last night it finally lost it. Fortunately the amalgamated Household includes a 13" from my college days, which will have to suffice for an indefinite period. It's a good thing that tonight was the night, too, because upon excavating my way down to the 13" I discovered that a shelf was about to give way, so I was able to address that situation before it became a disaster.

Weasel, our cat of very little brain, is now sitting on the TV... the dead TV. I guess that the 13", although warm, isn't a big enough platform for her liking. C'est la guerre.

Sidenote: does anyone know where to dispose of a TV properly in Chicago? I know my Idiot Neighbors like to leave them out by our dumpsters, but that's so Environmentally Incorrect these days...
