Fine Art of Fiber was a bit of a bust. There's a certain schadenfreude to be taken in hearing that the show as a whole was slow, I suppose, and in fact I did sell enough stuff to at least be able to say that it wasn't a total waste, but it means now I have to hurry and photograph the unsold items for eBay before I miss the holidays. (Again.)

Highlight of my on-site stint spent plunked in a doorway pretending to be useful: two men, pretty transparently a couple, went by the display of comical dolls beside me and gave it this "...We may be gay, but we're not THAT gay" look. Fortunately this wasn't too long before my shift was up, because it was the final straw that tipped me over the edge into giggling hysteria. I probably could have gotten away with taking off early, since there were more volunteers than browsers, but since I had to come back at 5 anyway to pick up the ashes of my self-esteem my unsold items, I managed to stick it out for another half-hour before I decided that people could find their own damn way to the bathrooms. Ah, well, I got my materials costs back, anyhow, which is better than some shows I've done...
