...I think he's trying to tell us that we're not getting out enough. :)

Mum's had a cold all week, and Wednesday night I started noticing that telltale itch in the back of my own throat; I took two DayQuil liquigels and stayed in bed until hunger finally spurred me to get up, and after the application of chicken soup, hot cocoa, and a few more DayQuils, I seem to be on the mend already. Apparently, one of the things "They" really ought to tell you early on is that the best way to knock out a cold before it can become entrenched is to put yourself to bed at the first inklings of trouble. Would that Mum could afford to take the time off, she's been slogging around out in the wet Being a Responsible Adult. This whole Protestant Work Ethic thing seems like a cruel joke, really.

A question, raised by lying about watching TV all afternoon because I wasn't exactly up to much else yet: some of you may have seen that CG Coca-Cola commercial where the penguin gives the Coke polar bear a bottle of his favorite sugarwater; now, speaking off the top of your head, do you know if this is a likely scenario? Because I mentioned this to Mum as a prime example of how dumbed-down Society has gotten, and she expressed her doubts as to whether the average American on the street would think twice about the penguin and the polar bear, and whether the production crew who labored to create the ad spot had given it any thought along the way either. No looking it up or checking the other replies first, now, let's hear your first impressions...
