Ascending the Learning Curve

So, how is Gaius doing so far in his capacity as Primary House Mac? Well, we've had a few Issues, mostly of a "...Try to keep up, Meatsack" nature; besides things being in different places between the two OS versions, the most critical problem so far has been that I have not, as of yet, succeeded in getting Gaius and Formerly speaking to one another down an Ethernet connection, which has meant a lot of running around and swearing and eventually trying to remember eightygazillion different logins to re-establish various Internet services via the new machine, since Formerly and his Preference files are sitting on a lot of information that I've accidentally deleted from my own brain. (Most important password discovered to have been forgotten to date: the secondary email associated with my eBay account and other commercial activities, which has triggered a cascade of "and who am I here?" scramblings to change things that get sent to that address over to my main account, and one catastrophic failure to accomplish same which involves my PayPal account and has to be resolved via snailmail, for god's sake.) Since I can't really "move in" properly until some means of transferring stuff is arrived at (and don't think I haven't been eyeing the external USB HD from Griff with malicious intent), I'm trying not to get too settled yet, but given the seductive availability of Safari et al, a certain amount of pre-breaking-in has inevitably been taking place, where I can recall the needed details. Nothing like a new computer to make one feel like a complete and utter moron...
