To clarify a point from an earlier post, upon musing over it for some hours as I've doodled around enjoying the switch from 14.4 to DSL: it's not so much that I'm worried about Wesley Clark himself, as a candidate; what troubles me is the thought that the punters may be rushing to buy solely because they're dazzled by the notion of the Uniform. An uncritical public can be fed just about anything, and I don't like to see people becoming accustomed to the notion of judging candidates by their military qualifications or lack thereof -- it's too easy for the unscrupulous to step in to take advantage of a trend like that once it's been implanted in the collective consciousness. Look at how hard Washington had to insist that he hadn't fought his battles to win himself a crown, after all...
