Well, back to ignoring baseball for another year. The silver lining is that at least now we won't be hosting the terrorist attack, either. (The 100th WS being a Mom-And-Apple-Pie Target Of Symbolic Value to Them 'Murca-Hatin' Evildoers, and all.)
But I still want a recount. I don't trust Floridians anymore.
Editing Progress: Finished with chapter 7 -- page 126 of 243, over the midpoint hump! And with the baseball season over for all practical intents and purposes (my baseline state being that the game bores me silly, but I was willing to override that setting under the circumstances), maybe now I can get some longer intervals of peace to get this done in.
Update on my eventful morning: the SE perished from the cold (IE it came up Sad Mac on the test-firing), but once I got a blanket and some hot soup issued to the Performa 638CD, it thawed out enough to tell me that it was fine, and it says its name is Dennis. (This is not the sort of a name I would have chosen, but it seems quite emphatic on the point.) The Performas of the 600 series are essentially slightly-crippled Quadras, so as this is a distinct improvement over the sluggish IIci, I'll be setting the newcomer up for Mum and consolidating some of the wrecks around here onto it (I know I just saw the LocalTalk cables...). It's got a 300-and-some MB HD and 32 MB RAM, which she ought to appreciate.
The SE has already been reduced to its component parts and the shell is sitting in the bathtub awaiting cleaning (which I actually have to do in the kitchen sink, but there were dishes in it) and appropriate taxidermy efforts.
