Off now to have a sandwich before I head out to the grand opening ceremony of the knitting thingie that the City is hosting; perhaps I shall learn today's new thing there... ;)
- New Thing Learned for 3 January: Clicking on a name in a header in OS X's Mail program brings up a menu that among other things lets you address a new message to the email attached to that name. I've been doing this computer thing for so long that sometimes I forget to check if various procedures have evolved beyond the annoying stand-on-your-head-and-spin ways of accomplishing things that I've been used to having to put up with... - New Thing Learned for 4 January: The curved teeth on a chainsaw were inspired by observing the mandibles of wood-boring beetles. So don't let me hear anybody complaining that the dreaded emerald ash borer is completely useless in the grand scheme of things. ;) [Source: History Channel, Modern Marvels episode "Logging Tech"]
