I know why I break into a sweat whenever the net access even hiccups, it's a throwback to growing up with all of Reagan's saber-rattling and feeling that if I took my eyes off the world for a second it might have disappeared in a blinding flash. (Back then it was the radio or TV I couldn't bear to have off for very long.) It's just nervewracking to have to still live with that conditioning...
