Modem behaving particularly badly tonight, damn it. (At least, given that the DSL light is now also having fits along with the ethernet light, I'm guessing that that's the weak link in the chain here rather than the Mac...) Will try calling DSL provider tomorrow to see if they might be willing to send out a new one, given that it was their equipment in the first place...
