YarnCon went pretty well, apart from the bit where my bra suffered a sudden and gratuitous total existence failure about half an hour in. (You do not want the details. Trust me.) Made enough to cover the booth fee and pay back the metaphorical big guy named Guido involved in bailing me out from Gareth-who-was-Gaius's unexpected medical expense last "spring", but no actual profit for myself, as such, alas. I do still have stock left over to put back on etsy, and Mum has agreed to let me put aforementioned booth-fee-covering-money into my account to reinvest in more yarn blanks, considering that I'd only be borrowing it off her again anyway later if I paid her right back now. But at least I did cover the booth fee, anyway, I know someone who missed even that modest target. In Conclusion, George W Bush's economy can bite my shiny metal ass, kthxbye.
In other news, I finally cracked up to the point of physically losing important bits of paper and had to resign from the knitting-guild newsletter gig before it got to be "killing spree ending" time. Which is about what I expected would eventually happen, I gather lasting two years let alone almost three is rather unusual (I'd have been serving under my third guild president if I'd stayed, at that), so I suppose I should count myself fortunate RE "killing spree ending" and have a nice rest before I get myself into any other open-ended commitments for a while. Although if you know anyone who's hiring...
And the date of the unveiling regarding the project for the Deadline That Was Eating My Brain for a couple of months there has been set for 20th November, which means
atlanticat still has time to run it past her Resident Brit if she gets the chance...
