Furnace Guy came back, caught the furnace in the act this time, poked around and scratched his head for long enough for me to sort out all the crap magneted to the fridge, and then said that it was the squeaking noise that had originally called my attention to the problem doing it -- which is of course an Expensive Bit, and Furnace Guy's Parts Guy mayormaynot be available tomorrow to get a replacement for that. So, Idunno. Since FG hadn't been available first thing this morning we decided to carry through on previous plans for The Hobbit at the cheapest showing (10am), and when we got back in at nearly 3pm the thermostat read 62, so I don't think we'd be in imminent danger of anything more than Extreme Crankiness if furnace continues uncooperative, but the crankiness, as I say, is Extreme.

(Hobbit, BTW, left me as queasy as Hunger Games had; I'm starting to wonder if it's to do with 3d films downshifted to 2d, or WTH. It suggests I'll be seeing even fewer movies than I do now, because if the Spectacle-Based ones that are the ones mostly worth seeing in theaters are all going to be like this, then they can keep it...)
