The Prequel's Progress: none since last update; reason: grutched up shoulderblade under mysterious circumstances (probably extension of Mouse Elbow, I shouldn't wonder) and have been trying to stay off the affected area, which means not sitting up at the desk too much. Characters quite annoyed with me.
Illinois' largely irrelevant primary is Tuesday, which means that the senatorial candidates have been racing to land their last-minute blows upon one another. Today's scandal du jour was rather boring (democrats Hines and Hull going at it over claims that the other's ads were a pack of lies), but yesterday's star attraction was a brouhaha over republican Jack Ryan (not the Jack Ryan of the Clancy novels, alas, so pipe down, guys), who apparently has Interesting Things sealed away in his divorce records, namely some sort of funding improprieties relating to a film project he helped out the ex-wife with. Which wouldn't ordinarily be particularly worthy of note, but the ex-wife in question goes by the given name of Jeri -- yes, that Jeri Ryan -- and the film is of, shall we say, a not-family-friendly genre... Almost tempts one to cross party lines to vote for him just so the news will have to run the clips a few dozen more times.
The various candidates have been teleharassing potential voters all week, which is supremely annoying when one is trying to sleep through a sore shoulder. I expect not to get much sleep at all on Monday. Where's the damn Ben-Gay...?
