It never fails, the moment I sit down to work Mum needs to get into the kitchen and crawls right over me to get in... Jane Austen couldn't work under these conditions. She's back to work tomorrow, maybe then I'll be able to get something done.
Went out to the beach again today to see if I could catch the tall-ships heading out, but no luck, I missed them. This was how the rest of the day went as well. Quick check of email, then to sleep, in the hopes that tomorrow will be better or at least better-organized. Here's hoping that 'quick email' will be quick, lately my primary dialup # hasn't been working AT ALL and the phone company's too busy to ask them about whether the suggested alternate numbers are toll-calls from here until at least Wednesday. (They ripped me off for $80 last fall juggling me from one # to another until I'd lost track of what was free and what was toll -- really, in a city this size you'd think they'd have more than two numbers to dialup to!) They keep claiming that the problem's on my end, but if that's so, then how come the TOLL number works just fine...??? And they've outsourced the online tech-support to India which doesn't help when you're trying to explain a problem of any complexity (like "this number of yours doesn't work when it rains, could you go check for leaks?" which is an actual problem I was having with them once...). If anybody's happier with their ISP dialing-up in the Chicago area, I'd love to hear some recommendations, I'm just about up to here with this nonsense...
