{peering out from under the bed} Well, all in all, I must say they've gotten a lot better at running the JazzFest: the first year it dragged on from 10AM until nearly midnight and they had the amps at eleven the whole while, but this year they MUST have gotten severe complaints because they stuck to the announced 2 - 10 schedule and kept the volume down to a level that was nearly tolerable throughout. Weasel didn't even develop hysterical deafness this year (and I think Snip was actually rather enjoying it). The acts have gotten a lot better, as well, the first couple years were bad enough to kill passing birds. Now if only they'll be prompt about getting all their crap out of the street so we can have our parking back... Not that we've needed it, this weekend, since it's been too gloomy overall to draw the too-far-to-walk crowd into the park, which is where the real traffic-problem comes in in the summer. (And of course the one part of the whole weekend when it was actually pouring rain so hard as to stop the proceedings outside was the couple hours when we had to go out to the library... go figure.)

Mum's staying home one more day, she thinks, and then I can get on with Editing (a readthrough for An Overview, a readthough for Booboos, a readthrough for Infelicitousness, etc...); but for right now, Griff's been switched on for another session of Mindless Killing, since I'm too drained from the experience of JazzFest Weekend to really concentrate. And anyway, the Mindless Killing does have some relevance to my overall purpose here... but that's a story I won't really be able to tell until Publication occurs. Patience, my minions...

Oh, and I did get one constructive thing done today before they started up with the racket: I finally hung up the whiteboard that I've been looking for a wall for for the last two years. This is where I intend to keep track of what's gone where and when it's expected back... having Griff making me do these journal entries when I start him up is getting me a little more organized and disciplined already.
