The Management is chagrined to have to admit that we have lost track of which library books had what status when and thus this blog will be forced to terminate the library-list project prematurely. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused our Readers.

Observed the Bloomsday centenary by completely ignoring it, as I still haven't got round to reading Ulysses some fifteen years after being dragged around Dublin in the wake of the other class in my year-abroad program whose assignment to read said book the trip was actually in relation to. Perhaps this will be the year a copy of Ulysses finally turns up for me at the Brandeis sale, if I manage to haul myself over there on the el on Friday.

And from the Department of Silly Things: this being about the halfway point of the McDonald's NeoPets promotion, it seems like a good juncture to post a roster of which plushies I've gotten that I'd just as soon trade for different ones:

#1: red scorchio
#2: green lupe
#4: purple chomby
#5: green jubjub
#6: yellow blumaroo (x2), blue blumaroo
#7: green moehog
#9: green ixi
#12: starry quiggle
#14: green grundo
#15: green uni

For purposes of comparison, my list of "keepers" so far:

red aisha, green aisha, green aisha
white techo, red techo (Bobfert: Live in Concert!)
black grundo (Which is greatly improved from the green one by not having a visible mouth.)

(And yes, totaling it up, one-half of the plushies I've gotten "randomly" have been green. The hell...?) I'd mostly be interested in techos and (more) aishas at this point, since the local distribution seems to have moved on past those numbers (although the scorchio did just turn up tonight). The ones on the first list above that don't get traded away are headed for eBay when the promotion's over, so if you see something you need for your own collection, speak up now and you might save us both a couple of bucks, hey? (Although I did already succumb to anxiety and procured an orange and a black aisha on eBay, for fear that once the official supply dries up these apparently less-common colors will shoot way out of my infinitesimally narrow price-range for indulging this kind of insanity. I like the aishas, dammit, why did they have to release them first?)
