AAAAND it's time for another hilarious episode of "how many tries will it take me to get online today?" {sigh} Still looking around for a better ISP, IE anything where the answer is 'less than twenty tries and/or half an hour'. In case anyone who's been following this has been wondering why updates appear here in bursts at intervals of about a week, well, that's about how long I can hold out before the nagging feeling that my spambucket is about to explode drives me to plug in the phone line again and cross my fingers.
Nothing interesting to report since previous entry's progress milestone; I printed out a fresh copy of the manuscript for picking over, and in a day or so I shall begin shining the flashlight around and spraying for adverbs, but today I took a nap instead, because it was that sort of a day. A minor character has offered me a startling revelation about the disaster that triggered this first manuscript, however, and although it has little immediate bearing on the completed manuscript, I think I may be in for some serious Writing-Up in the near future, which could be jockeying for my attention with the Nitpicking Of The Text for a little while. Or not, depending on whether this thought turns out to go anywhere. But it has suddenly given much more structure to the proposed Book #2, which is in fact a prequel (mutant backstory started growing tentacles on me...), so I am Pleased.
