The Prequel's Progress: 23184. The fight scene I thought I'd sat down to write a month ago finally turned up, unexpectedly shaken loose by the lime punch at
ilwitchgrrl's baby shower. Ah, my Muse, you are an abidingly strange creature. Much pleased when Antagonist showed up in character right off the bat. So far he's been the most consistent voice of all of them; I wonder what that says about my own psychological makeup? (That I smart-ass to hide my underlying insecurities about my place in the world, perhaps? Well, whatever.)
I now need to research styles of punchbowls through the ages. Bother. A thought: I'll be needing to head off to the Art Institute, which is free on Tuesdays... and this is the season of free movies in the park behind the Art Institute, also on Tuesdays... Would anybody be interested in making an outing of it next Tuesday? Say, meet at elevenish to do the museum, and then when they throw us out at 4:30 we kill the interval before meeting whatever other LJ'ers might turn up at the Free Movie Goodness of The Birds (I see that's the one
rollick knows she can't make, alas) with some manner of food-related activity?
Just a thought, lemme know if you're in for something along those lines... Of course, it might rain. It's sorta raining now, in fact, which is why I'm not down there right now. But the obsessive side of my writerly self won't be happy until I can feed it some data, and the coincidence of factors seems like a natural. (And I'd love you forever if you'd take me to the Seurat show, which isn't free, dammit. :) )
Still no workmen. Botheration.
The moustache was on patrol again this morning. I don't know if this is all the same centipede; they can live years, after all, and I'm not sure I want to contemplate the prospect that there's more than one of them that size lurking in my walls. I got a good look at this one today, and I'd give it decent odds to take down a mouse. But hey, it's organic pest control.
Certainly seems to be well fed...
I'm feeling increasingly like I ought to give this critter a name. Any ideas?
