Random cruel thoughts on the Olympics, day 8: Damn you,
febrile, all I could focus on during the sculling finals was how the announcers seemed to be fixated on the word "stroke". If anyone needs me, I'll be in my trailer...
The Prequel's Progress: 25284, when I suddenly realized what the curious but persistent notion of having an embedded journalist travelling with the mercenaries in Theoretical Prequel #2 has to do with the climax of Prequel #1. (They're told by different narrators and the events of #2 would take place during #1.) Now I have to look up the early days of photo-reproduction in newspapers to see what exactly would be an appropriate description of the picture the characters are discussing in the scene I've started roughing out. Joy. But I can feel this giving much more form to the last third of the Prequel already, as I get thinking about the ramifications, so this is Good.
Scary incident this evening when I was trying to think of the words to the Battle Hymn of the Republic and all I was coming up for the longest time with was Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance", which is one of those things that really gets you thinking "brain tumor". Now have the Sabre Dance stuck in my head.
Again.
