Um... has anyone got the email address for As the Apple Turns handy for an old computer who can't read their site properly, so I can go slobber on Jack and Katie and Anya like a grateful golden retriever?
The generosity of the Mac community has run up the "Griff's Medical Fund" to some $413!!
I have no idea what a tube transplant would cost (neither did the clerk at MicroCenter), so here's the way I'm going to handle this: the first $75 of donations to have come in, I will turn over to repay Mum as soon as this can be arranged (she's at work right now and I don't know if her IIsi can execute this anyway, might need to try at the library). The balance of the donations will sit in my PayPal account pending diagnosis; then, if there's $$ left over above and beyond the actual repair costs, I will go down the list and contact the donors RE their wishes for the surplus funds (you'll still go into the Acknowledgements page regardless!).
