Well, I feel much better than I have for the past few days, now that the first debate is out of the way; I've been wrong before, of course, but faced with the choice between the guy who spoke in complete sentences and the guy who was practically devolving into a rhesus monkey before our eyes, you have to think that at least a few of the undecideds would be more inclined to impregnate their chads for Kerry after his performance tonight. Defying the request not to splitscreen during the candidates' remarks, the CBS presentation frequently treated the viewers to shots of Bush assuming what our household calls the "BLAH BLAH BLAH Ginger" look (after the Far Side cartoon about what dogs really hear), and conversely Kerry trying not to giggle at Bush's halting delivery. (I mean, KoKo the gorilla could have done a more articulate job of explaining foreign policy.) I'd say point to Kerry, despite how the media gigglebots have desperately been trying to spin it as a success for Bush because he didn't actually keel over dead during the course of the ninety minutes.

What I've been up to since Tuesday's MeetUp:

I've also gotten a start on the scarf now that I know roughly how much yarn glove #2 will require. (And, [livejournal.com profile] donia, I did find some pink yarn in the "I forget what I bought this for so I'll make it into hats" pile, so a pair of gloves for you could happen...)

Muse still AWOL, but at least she hasn't brought back any more "thanks but no thanks" SASE's yet...
