Another week, another "not interested" from an agent. Bah. Spent most of the last week talking Mum in off the ledge, electorally speaking, and watching the cats playing Crouching Weasel, Hidden Snip with unusually overcaffinated fervor. Trying now to muster the energy to shower so I can go drop in on a "where do we go from here?" meetup of local Concerned Democrats -- must stay Involved and Interested, although ADHD is whispering loudly in my ear "but we just did that, I wanna go to the zoo!" at the prospect of another four years of trying to follow politics in any detail. Ah, well, nobody ever said this was going to be easy.

The highlight of the weekend past was Mum's discovering that one of our profligate neighbors had dumped an elfa-basket frame out by our trash. This has been duly adopted, washed, and pressed into service as a knitting workstation with the addition of one large basket and another to come next-paycheck. The elfa system's main design flaw is that the contents of the baskets get very dusty, which is probably why this is the third elfa-frame we've found abandoned by our dumpster since we've lived here, but because of the cats I keep my yarn in baggies anyway, so this unit is a suitable improvement over the busted-up laundry-basket I had been corralling my works-in-progress in. So I'm counting that and the fact that setting it up made me sweep and caulk behind the tv stand a net gain for Monday. Gotta cling to any small feeling of accomplishment when it gets dark out at 4:30, y'know.
